Please, everyone, trust me. I promise that everything is going to be explained in later chapters of The Nicest Thing. If I was to clarify and explain everything in one chapter, who the hell would read the rest of the story? Corey and Kyle have a complicated relationship to say the least but everything both what is happening to them now and what happened in high school will be explained. Just, please. Be patient. 7years, you know I absolutely adore you and I promise that things will be explained. The quotes you pointed out from The Prettiest Thing will be used later on in The Nicest Thing.
