Better Together - Chapter Four

If anyone is interested in updates for this story, the fourth chapter of Better Together is now posted on Fictionpress so check it out if you want to. I hope everyone is having a fantastic weekend so far and I promise to listen to all of the song suggestions people have been sending me. I also have some artwork to post and work on some new chapters. Basically, I have much to do! But first, I want to finish watching Stalag 17. I just love William Holden. Thank you in advance for everything and hopefully, I will talk to you all soon and have some new updates.

A Pocketful of Poppies - Part Fifteen

I am very happy with the way this chapter turned out and I hope others enjoy it as well. Part fifteen of A Pocketful of Poppies is now posted on Fictionpress so please read it and let me know what you think if you want. It shows some insight into Kim Aldridge and how she sees Justin and it of course moves the relationship between Justin and Poppy forward as well. Thank you as always in advance for reading and reviewing. I really appreciate it.

Hawkin and Lily

Soldier Boy is my favorite story of yours right now and I absolutely love the character of Lily Hawkin. I found this picture of Jensen Ackles and I knew immediately that I wanted to edit it a little. I added text from your story and I tried to photo shop my own eye patch over his eye since Hawkin lost his eye at the end of The Flower Girl but it never looked right so I just gave up. I hope you like this picture and thank you so much for writing this amazing story. I hope you update it soon. Love Vanessa.”

Vanessa, thank you very much for the artwork (which I have posted below). I love that picture.

Simon, Marcus and Lily’s adventure is just beginning and Hawkin is definitely going to be acting somewhat crazy and vengeful to get his daughter back safely. Soldier Boy is not only going to be a story about Simon, Marcus, Lily and their coming-of-age tale but it is also about the Mogue and what the soldiers will do to protect their own. It is going to be a bit darker, a bit more magical and mythical than The Flower Girl but I hope it all turns out the way I am imagining it.

Thank you very much to Vanessa and to everyone for reading this story and hopefully, enjoying it as well.

Better Together - Chap. Three

I am glad some have showed interest and excitement about these two stories being posted once again after a little fine tuning. Chapter three of Better Together is up on Fictionpress if you want to read and review it.

More than Anyone is also going to be seeing some editing and even more fleshing out into a long novel-type story. I am going to add more with Toby and Olivia and Ben and his conflict with his ex-girlfriend, Jillian as well as include an epilogue of sorts with Ben and Olivia getting to know one another in the bedroom since I know many were dying for a love scene between the two.

Also, in case you missed the previous post, chapter three of Soldier Boy is also posted so check that out if you want.

I have noticed that not many people visit this blog anymore, traffic severely down than what it used to be, and I know that I have lost readers along the way so I am thinking about giving the blog a makeover or maybe... abandoning it completely. I am not sure what I am going to do but thank you to everyone who does visit this blog. I put probably almost as much work into it as I do into my stories so it does mean a lot to me. Thank you to everyone who does stick by me through everything. I am certain that if I did not have you, I would not be putting as much time into writing as I do and therefore, I would not be doing something I love to do so much. Thank you for everything.

Soldier Boy - Chapter Three

Fictionpress appears to be up and running again so I was able to post chapter three of Soldier Boy. Please, as always, read it and let me know what you think of it. I love this chapter and had a great time writing it. I hope you enjoy it. Thank you very much to Lauren for the banner she made of Simon Fowlers - it is absolutely beautiful - and I have also posted the painting by Gustave Doré of Arachne, who is the basis for a new creature introduced in this chapter. As always, thank you for reading.

Swing Life Away

Fictionpress is going through some technical glitches at the moment but inspiration has struck me nonetheless and I am almost finished with chapter three of Soldier Boy. I hope I can post it soon. I already am in love with writing Simon, Lily and Marcus. I hope to develop them further into great characters and I hope the website is fixed soon so everyone can read the new chapter.

In the meantime, Rise Against is one of my favorite bands and Swing Life Away is one of my favorite songs. Whenever I listen to it, I immediately think of my stories and the couples I have created over the years. If you are curious, I am posting the song below so you can listen to it if it interests you. I hope everyone has had a good Monday. I am in an excellent mood today and I hope this streak of inspiration continues with the stories I have going at the moment.

A Pocketful of Poppies - Part Fourteen

Part fourteen of A Pocketful of Poppies is now posted over on Fictionpress.com. Please read and review for me if you are interested. Thank you in advance and Happy Friday to everyone. I am having difficulty posting pictures at the moment but hopefully, I will be able to later. I am also posting a slightly edited version of Better Together on the site and once that is posted, I am going to edit More than Anyone and post that so give that old story another read as well. Thank you again.

*Update: Thank you very much to Nyah for the pictures found below. I have pictures for the friends and for, of course, Poppy and Justin but I never had actors/models in mind for these characters so thank you, Nyah, for taking the time to find these for me. I think Julie Christie is perfect for Kim Aldridge though - just because Kim is supposed to be an older mom and she and the actor/model I chose for Justin actually look alike. Of course, everyone can imagine the characters however they like and these are for just those who enjoy visuals.

When Night is Almost Done - Chap. Four

Hi everyone. Chapter four of When Night is Almost Done is now posted on Fictionpress.com so read it if you are interested and let me know what you think. Thank you ahead of time for everything.

*I just wanted to clarify something because it seems that some readers are confused. This story takes place in 1952. I thought I had made that clear throughout the chapters but I suppose it was not as clear as I thought it was. I just did not want people to be confused anymore. Thank you.

Hamlet

Good morning, everyone. Thank you very much to you all who helped me with the “incident” yesterday. It seems as if the author has taken down her story on fanfiction.net and hopefully, something like that will not happen to me again. A million thanks to everyone who came forward and reported the plagiarism. If I ever have to go into battle, I definitely want all of you watching my back.

Though I am going to take a few days before I update again just to collect myself, I am going to continue working on A Pocketful of Poppies and When Night is Almost Done. When these two stories are completed, I am going to continue my work with Soldier Boy as well as start on a new story that has been in my head for some time now. I have posted the summary below so please let me know what you think. It is going to be a mixture of family drama and romance and while working on the first chapter, I have already fallen in love with my newest main character, Hamlet Abernathy.

Have a lovely Wednesday.

Quarter-Life Crisis by Kate
Hamlet is twenty-five and has just been fired from his job with no idea what else he wants to do with his life. On top of that, his parents are getting a divorce, his father wants to start dating again, his sister is getting out of rehab and moving in with him, and he finds himself falling for Rebecca, his best friend’s ex-girlfriend.

Vienna

“Vienna” by Billy Joel is one of my favorite songs of all time and lately, as I write A Pocketful of Poppies, I imagine it being a theme song of sorts for Poppy Sheppard. I found this video on YouTube of the vinyl playing, which is perfect because I prefer vinyl, so please listen below and let me know what you think. Do you have any song suggestions for Justin or perhaps a song suggestion for the couple? Just leave me a comment. You know I love getting music suggestions.

I hope everyone has had a fantastic Monday and I just want to thank everyone for the warm responses I have been getting for A Pocketful of Poppies and When Night is Almost Done. I hope you all know just how amazing you are and how much I appreciate and adore every single one of you.

A Pocketful of Poppies - Part Thirteen

Please read part thirteen of A Pocketful of Poppies now posted on Fictionpress. I would greatly appreciate it as always. Also, if you have time, please let me know what you think of it. I know everyone is extremely busy but it would mean a lot to me. Thank you in advance.

When Night is Almost Done - Chap. Three

So, chapter three of When Night is Almost Done is posted on Fictionpress and I would really like it if you read it and let me know what you think of it. I know that my stories have been moving slowly plot-wise lately but I am just trying to sharpen my writing skills and truly great authors do not just jump into the story. They let it build, let it play out and then the action starts and the characters become alive. I hope I am not boring anyone with the speed of my newest stories lately. And I also hope everyone has a spectacular Friday night. I love you all to death.

A Pocketful of Poppies - Part Twelve

As the title of the post suggests, part twelve of A Pocketful of Poppies is posted on Fictionpress so please check it out for me and let me know what you think. It took me forever to write for some reason but I hope that it turned out alright. Please review and put my slightly paranoid mind at ease. I also hope everyone is have a good week so far.

When Night is Almost Done - Chap. Two

Please go to Fictionpress and read the second chapter of When Night is Almost Done. I was very flattered with the warm responses I got with the first update and I hope that the interest continues with this story. Below, I have posted several pictures in regards to this story as well as a few pictures of how I envisioned the Chapman House. Thank you in advance for reading and reviewing for me.

A Pocketful of Poppies - Part Eleven

Part eleven of A Pocketful of Poppies is posted on Fictionpress, ready to be read and review so please do so for me. Inspiration has been with me for all of the stories I have been writing and I hope it sticks with me. I love to write and I love to write for all of you. Please let me know what you think of this newest chapter. Below, I have posted the song Waterline by Sage Francis and for some reason, each time I listen to it, I think of Justin. Give it a listen if you want. Thank you in advance for your thoughts and reviews. Happy soon-to-be Friday.

When Night is Almost Done - Chap. One

So, I am always trying new things with my writing - as most of you have figured out - and this time, I was inspired to write a good old fashioned ghost story. The first chapter of When Night is Almost Done is now posted on Fictionpress so please read it for me and let me know what you think of it. I know I have several stories going on at the moment but you know me. When inspiration strikes me, I have little control over what I write. I just hope what I write is enjoyable and well put together. Let me know what you think of it, please. Thank you very much as always.
