The Long Walk Home

I was struck with random inspiration today and wrote this one-shot called The Long Walk Home, which is now posted on Fictionpress.com so please read it and review and let me know what you think. I know that there is no point to it - just some fluffy goodness which we all need occasionally in our lives. I haven't been updating like I used to but I think it is because I was bitten with the summer bug and am enjoying the outdoors. I promise to udpate my stories eventually so just please be patient and enjoy the summer as well. In the meantime, also enjoy the newest templeton fix. Below are pictures of the two main characters.

A Slow Burn - Chapter Five

Chapter five of A Slow Burn is now posted on AFF.net. Please read, review and let me know what you think. I was aiming for something with this chapter and I hoped I succeeded with it. I hope you like the chapter. Please read it and let me know what you think. Below is a picture of Mark, Rob's best friend - who will become extremely important to Rob and Lauren's relationship in later chapters - and a banner an anonymous reader made for Lauren.

Pictures

I am taking the advice of some of my wonderful readers and am waiting for inspiration to slam into me like a brick wall. I have been enjoying my weekend, going to a museum on Saturday and having a cookout today. My brain is slowly relaxing and hopefully, when I update, it will be the best update ever. Okay. It probably won't be but I am started to feel less stressed already so that is an excellent thing. I hope everyone is having a good weekend as well. Below, I have posted some random pictures I found that have reminded me of some of my stories. Flickr is my newest obsession website and I am constantly on there, surfing through all of the pictures. Let me know if you like the pictures below and agree with who they remind me of.

The Nicest Thing - Chapter Five

Chapter five of The Nicest Thing is now posted on AFF.net so check it out for me. Read it, review it, and let me know what you think about it. It was a chapter entirely of Corey and Kyle and I hope it turned out alright. Next chapter, we will finally get a look into Corey and Kyle's families and I am excited to write that. I hope everyone has a good night.

Inspiration

Everything about my stories has sucked lately. I hated how Battle with Devon and Grace turned out and everyone hated The Potential of You and Me so I took it down to work on a rewrite. I don't know what is wrong with me lately but everything coming out of me has been shit. I am working on the next chapter of The Nicest Thing but it is taking me forever and I hope that it turns out alright when it is finished. I think I want to post A Slow Burn on Fictionpress.com but I don't know if people will like it there since it isn't about high school. I have no idea what is wrong with me lately. I hope this doesn't last long and I go back to writing at least decent stuff again.

The Potential of You and Me

Part II of III of The Potential of You and Me is now posted on Fictionpress.com so please read it and review it for me. I know many don't like it but thank you to those who have read it and let me know what you thought of Preston and Jane's new story. Thank you.

The Potential of You and Me

I just posted the first part of Preston and Jane's new story on Fictionpress called The Potential of You and Me - the first part of three. Please read and review it for me. I would like to see what everyone thinks of the rewrite. Below are pictures of Henrietta and Albert, Preston's mother and father as well as Preston and Jane and Tim, Jane's father. Thank you in advance for reading and reviewing for me. It really means a lot to me and does encourage me to write.

Ghetto Gospel Rewrite

Good morning, everyone. I took Battle down from Fictionpress. I was reading it over this morning and I realized just how quickly I wrote it last night and it definitely wasn't my best. I am going to work on it before I post it again. I am also working on the next chapter of The Nicest Thing and I am also working on a Ghetto Gospel rewrite though it will be turned into a long one-shot and posted on Fictionpress. It is also going to have a different title and a different plot but the main story of Jane and Preston falling in love and an examination of race will still be there. Jane and Preston were two of my favorite characters and I missed them. I didn't feel that Ghetto Gospel was the best story for them so that is why I am working on a rewrite.

Battle

It took me about two hours to write this so I hope it turned out alright. Battle is now posted on Fictionpress.com so please read and review it for me. You DO NOT need an account to review on that site. The one-shot follows Devon Hensley and Grace Sawyer from my previous stories Seven Minutes in Heaven and Strange Conditions and though this one has a bit more angst, I think it showed the characters developing naturally. At least, I hope it does. Please let me know what you think. Thank you and have a good night. I need to get some sleep now.

Thank You

I love to write. I always have and I always will. Writing is something that always makes me happy. Whenever I am inspired, I am lucky enough to be able to sit down and write out a story that just randomly pops into my head. And I am lucky enough to have all of you to write for. Thank you for everything - for the reviews, for the encouragement and kind words, for the checking up on me when I don't post anything for a few days. Thank you for letting me write for you. I will never stop writing. Even if I never get published, if I still have all of you reading my stories online, I will be happy. I just wanted to let you know that I love writing and I love writing for you. Never did I think when I posted Wonderwall a couple of years ago would I develop a devoted following like I have. There are truly great writers out there and I know I will never be one of them but when I post a story and I have you review it for me and let me know what you think, none of you can possibly understand that size of the smile on my face.

At the moment, my brain is going in a thousand different directions with stories and I am scared about burning myself out. I might have to slow down but I am just so excited for everything in the works that I need to write and post. Below is a picture I found that truly inspired me to write another installment for Devon and Grace in continuation of Seven Minutes in Heaven and Strange Conditions. I hope to finish that either tonight or tomorrow and post it on Fictionpress.com. I will let you know when. I am also working on the next chapter of The Nicest Thing and I have several other one-shots in the making.

I know this post may seem pointless but... I just wanted to say thank you. I mean it. If I never get published, I know that I will still always be a popular on-line author and honestly, that is more than good enough for me. I hope everyone had a fantastic Manic Monday and I will talk to you again soon when the short story of Devon and Grace is complete.

Fair Warning

Here is a warning to everyone though I'm sure people still won't read this post and question me about it. Tomorrow night, The Prettiest Thing WILL BE TAKEN DOWN FROM AFF.NET!!! I am in the process of editing it and I hope to send it out to be published by someone. Hopefully, someone will want to publish it. In order to do so though, I have to take it down from public sites therefore, after tomorrow night, it will be gone from the internet. This is an advanced warning if anyone wants to read it one more time.

Also, does anyone know of a publishing company or literary agency that will help me in this process? Please let me know if you do. Thank you very much.

A Slow Burn Fanart

Thank you to my friend Julie for making the fanart below for me for A Slow Burn. I really appreciate it. I'm not sure why people won't do it for me but thank you so much to the few people who read and reviewed chapter four for me. You have all said how much you love the story and I really appreciate that. I am glad that I get to write something completely different than my other stories and thank you to those who are willing to let me grow and change and try different things instead of writing stories like The Prettiest Thing all of the time. Thank you for taking the time to let me know what you think and thank you to Julie for the art below.

A Slow Burn - Chapter Four

I was finally struck with inspiration again for chapter four of A Slow Burn and I would love everyone to read it and review. I hope everyone likes it. Things are starting to get a bit complicated for Rob and Lauren and they will be even more so in the next chapters to come. Below are pictures of Adam Vandermark, Lauren's father, and Dean Warren. I also posted another picture of Mike Moseley and Nanako Moseley, Rob's brother and sister-in-law, since they have their own scene in this chapter. Please read, review and most of all, please enjoy.

Nara

Please listen to the song below and let me know what you think. It is called "Nara" by E.S. Posthumus and I have made it the theme song for A Slow Burn. I have been working on chapter four of the story over the past few days and have been listening to it constantly. In my head, I can see a music video for this story being made with this song. I love it. Give it a listen and let me know what you think.

Raven's Ridge - Part II

Raven's Ridge is now posted complete on Fictionpress.com so please read and review for me. I know this story was a bit darker than my others but I suppose I wanted to show that a person can find love, or that person they need, anywhere - the least likely of places. I hope everyone is having a good Friday. Oh. And I know someone asked. The actor for Joe is Charlie Hofheimer - one of my favorite unknown actors - and Nora is Hilary Duff. I may not particularly like her but I think she is beautiful and the perfect Nora in my head.

Nothing Else Matters - Chapter Three

Holden and Sarah are the newest oneshot to be added to Nothing Else Matters on AFF.net so please check it out for me. It is completely pointless and I have no idea where it came from but I hope you like it nonetheless. I am so excited about it being Friday tomorrow. I have a favor to ask. Does anyone know how to make character icons? I am interested in having some for my profiles. Please let me know if anyone can make me one. Thank you so much. I really appreciate everything you guys do for me.

Holden and Sarah

Never opened myself this way. Life is ours, we live it our way. All these words, I don't just say and nothing else matters. Trust I seek and I find in you. Every day for us something new. Open mind for a different view and nothing else matters.

Trust Me

Please, everyone, trust me. I promise that everything is going to be explained in later chapters of The Nicest Thing. If I was to clarify and explain everything in one chapter, who the hell would read the rest of the story? Corey and Kyle have a complicated relationship to say the least but everything both what is happening to them now and what happened in high school will be explained. Just, please. Be patient. 7years, you know I absolutely adore you and I promise that things will be explained. The quotes you pointed out from The Prettiest Thing will be used later on in The Nicest Thing. Just everyone bear with me in the meantime before things are explained more in detail. Thank you. - Kate

Joe

I should just go with my first instincts. Below is a picture of Joe from Raven's Ridge who I had in mind when I first started writing his character but I decided to go with another actor because I guess I wanted someone more familiar. This Joe is the true Joe though. Thank you to everyone who read and reviewed the first chapter for me. I suppose I was influenced by One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest - one of my favorite movies - since it is also mentioned in the next chapter of Nothing Else Matters featuring Holden and Sarah. I hope to have Part II of Raven's Ridge up soon as well as the Holden and Sarah chapter.

Raven's Ridge

Please don't ask me where this story came from because I have no idea. I just started writing it and much like Piper's Hidden Kiss was, this story is going to be in two parts as well. Raven's Ridge will be posted on Fictionpress.com and not on AFF.net so head over there to read and review my random story.

When Nora’s dad died, she stopped talking and started cutting herself. Admitted into a mental health facility, she must come to terms with her problem while striking up a friendship with another patient who just might be more messed up than she is.

Below are pictures of the characters as well as the setting, Raven's Ridge Health Facility. I hope at least some of you enjoy this story. Let me know. Thank you!

Clarifications

I think people are getting confused judging by some reviews and emails I have gotten in regards to The Nicest Thing and I guess I am not a good writer if I am confusing people. I thought that I have covered this but apparently I haven't as well as I thought I did. Corey and Kyle did date in high school. They hooked up on New Year's Eve and though their friends didn't understand it, they did in fact have a relationship. It was only at the end of The Prettiest Thing when during the night of the Prom, Corey realized that she could not stay away from him and they began their "fuck buddy" relationship. I guess this story isn't that great if I have to post blog posts explaining things. I'm sorry. Interest has been down in all of my stories since The Prettiest Thing and I am afraid that maybe I hit my peak and it will all be downhill from now on. I will try to work harder on my stories and make them clearer.

The Nicest Thing - Chapter Four

Chapter four of The Nicest Thing is now on AFF.net so please, everyone do me the favor of reading it and reviewing it for me. I hope everyone enjoys it. Thank you to Lauren for the fanart of Corey below. I hope everyone is having a good week so far.

Answers to the Comments

Hi everyone! I am less than eager about it being Monday but too late now to go back. I was reading the comments people have been leaving for the previous post The Nicest Thing - Chapter Three and I get blown away every time by how everyone gets involved with my stories. I love how you connect with the characters and seriously. You guys make me smile every single day. There were a few comments that I wanted to address:

I have to day I was a little disappointed that Bret opened a branch of his dad's lawn service in Chicago. It just seems so boring, and I don't know average. He graduated from Penn right? Even his dad didn't want him to continue in his footstep so I was just disappointed to see that. Hopefully he is taking it to the next level and is a landscape engineer, or I don't know. (Sorry for anyone reading this who does landscaping or who's spouse is a landscaper)

Okay. You guys have to stop reading my mind and getting ahead of ourselves. This was going to be addressed in the next chapter because Corey and Ella will be having a phone conversation. Remember that Trevor was the one who informed everyone of what Brett was doing now and also keep in mind that he couldn't even remember what Ella was the assistant curator of. Trevor Scott is not big on details. Brett actually is a landscape architect and is designing parks and playgrounds. I will still be going into detail with this next chapter so everyone, stop reading my mind or sneaking peaks at my pages ahead of time.

Hey Kate I just thought of something. The characters are 22right and Joy had Millie at 18? If she was 6, wouldn't that make Joy and Trevor 24? and Corey and Ella 23?

As you can see, math was never my strong suit but the way I thought of it in my head, Millie is turning 6 in July. Since the story is in June at the moment, she is still 5 and Trevor and Joy have not had their birthdays yet either so they are still 23 as are Kyle and Brett. Corey, Ella and Monty are all 22. An upcoming chapter is actually Kyle's birthday, which should be an exciting chapter to both write and read.

There is also going to be a chapter of Kyle and Corey driving home to Lawrence. This chapter actually was going to be a one-shot before I decided to flourish this into an entire story so this chapter is, hopefully, going to be great with Kyle and Corey stuck in a car together for a long period of a time. Just thinking about it, I have the biggest dumbest grin on my face.

Thank you to everyone for all of the interest you take in my story. I'm not sure what I did to be so lucky and have such devoted involved readers but I love it. Now. Anymore questions?

The Nicest Thing - Chapter Three

Chapter three of The Nicest Thing is now posted so please read and review it for me. Let me know what you think. After a couple introductory chapters, I am finally getting into the story and I hope everyone enjoys this chapter. Also, can someone please make me a piece of fanart for this story? I would be eternally grateful. Thank you!

The Nicest Thing Soundtrack

Music is obviously a huge part of my stories and in The Nicest Thing, the main song, "The Nicest Thing" by Kate Nash is, in my head, Corey's theme and how she felt about Kyle after he hurt her. Well, I thought it was only fair that Kyle has his own song and actually, I found two songs that were absolutely perfect for him. The first one below is "Think Twice" by Eve 6 and the second one is "All Over You" by The Spill Canvas. For the Eve 6 song, please just ignore the fanvid and listen to the song. The ability to post the song's official video was disabled so I had to post the song in a Gossip Girl video. Please have a listen to both of them and let me know which one you like. Thank you.

The New Kyle... and Millie

Someone gave me a great idea while I was reading through my reviews of The Nicest Thing and I have decided to switch pictures for Kyle Colfax. I have posted a picture of Corey as well so you can picture the new couple if you want to when you are reading. Of course, you can picture the characters however you want. These pictures are just for people who enjoy the visual aids. Also, below is a picture of five-year-old Millie Scott, who will make her debut in the next chapter - which I am working on right now. I think this actress would be a perfect Millie and I think she looks like a perfect blend of both of her parents. How do you like these pictures? I have noticed a drop in people reading my blog and I just want to make sure that I keep you guys interested and coming back for more. Also, please read the third chapter of A Slow Burn for me. Thank you in advance to everyone.

A Slow Burn - Chapter Three

I was inspired suddenly today and I just kept writing and writing. What came of it was chapter three of A Slow Burn, now posted on AFF.net to be read and reviewed by all of my wonderful readers/fans. I love this chapter and I hope everyone enjoys it as well. Below are pictures of Susan Vandermark and Shane, Lauren's mother and brother, and Nanako, Mike's wife. Happy Friday everyone! I am so relieved that it is finally the weekend.

The Nicest Thing - Chapter Two

I can't sleep and when I can't sleep, I write. I just finished and posted chapter two of The Nicest Thing on AFF and though I know a lot of you could care less for this story, I know that some are already really enjoying it so please read it and review it for me. I am really enjoying writing from both Corey and Kyle's perspective. Corey remembers their last time together perfectly while Kyle remembers the first time they met perfectly. I am excited to write their first run-in after the two years they have been apart. There is an attraction between the two that I love writing about and hopefully, some of you like reading. Below are pictures of Ash, Corey's older next door neighbor, and of Sean and Brooke Colfax, Kyle's parents. Both the Carcetti and the Colfax families will be explored in later chapters. I am going to try and get some sleep now. Please enjoy.

Overload

I feel that perhaps people are suffering from a templeton overload. Since I finished The Prettiest Thing, I have been posting a lot of different things - Nothing Else Matters, two chapters of A Slow Burn and the first chapter of The Nicest Thing, Corey and Kyle's story. Perhaps it is too much too soon. I will cut back and give everyone time to read and catch up. I hope to post something this weekend but I might take my time before another update. I would hate to have people get sick of me and my crowding AFF with all of my stories. I hope everyone is having a good week and thank goodness tomorrow is Friday.

The Nicest Thing - Chapter One

Chapter one of The Nicest Thing is now posted on AFF.net so please read and review and let me know what you think of Corey and Kyle's story. I hope it is loved like The Prettiest Thing. I have posted pictures below of some of the main characters of this story - Corey, Kyle, Monty and Paul and Holly Carcetti, Corey and Monty's parents. I love the pictures because Paul and Holly really do look as if Corey and Monty are their kids.

I know I have three stories going on right now: The Nicest Thing, Nothing Else Matters, and A Slow Burn and I am going to update them whenever I feel inspired. I am not going to box myself in with one story and lose my focus or muse. So updates for the stories will come whenever I have both the time and inspiration to update them. I hope everyone is having a good week. I haven't heard from some of you that I usually do and you know I worry about you.
