A Pocketful of Poppies - Part Ten

I was so hyper this morning but then I went to a Chinese buffet for lunch and now all I want to do is sleep. Still, I am very happy I was able to update before the weekend because my brother and sister are coming to visit so I would be too busy to do so tomorrow or Sunday. Please go to Fictionpress and read part ten of A Pocketful of Poppies and as always, let me know what you think. Happy Friday everyone and I hope you all have a spectacular weekend. Thank you in advance to those who read and always let me know what they think. It means the world to me. (PS, welcome back Shanna. I was worried about you.)

Crazy and Beautiful

I have just completed and posted a completely random one-shot called Crazy and Beautiful and it is about Jane and Preston from Ghetto Gospel. It sort of fills in the blanks as to what happened to the couple between chapter nine and the epilogue in Ghetto Gospel and I hope everyone who reads it, enjoys it. Please let me know what you think about it. Thank you.

A Pocketful of Poppies - Part Nine

This chapter took longer to write than I originally planned but part nine of A Pocketful of Poppies is posted on Fictionpress. Please head over there and read it for me. Usually, when a chapter takes me so much longer than I thought it would, it does not turn out as well as I hoped so please let me know what you think of it. Thank you very much in advance and I hope everyone enjoys their Sunday. Oh. I also posted “Amoreena” by Elton John below. It is one of my favorite songs and appears in this chapter so listen to it if you want. Thank you.

Soldier Boy - Chapter Two

The adventures of Simon Fowlers continues in the second chapter of Soldier Boy now posted on Fictionpress so please go and read it for me. And as always, please let me know what you think. This story, once again, is going to have many characters and a lot of mythology/fantasy elements to it so if it interests you, please read and review.

I am going to do something different with this story since I like to explore different techniques in regards to my writing and for this story, it is going to be split and will follow two seperate plotlines. One line is going to follow Simon, Lily and Marcus (characters introduced in chapter two) and the other line is going to follow Molly, Hawkin, Alice and the other Mogue soldiers. Each story is going to converge together in later chapters and I am really excited to see how Soldier Boy turns out. Thank you in advance for reading and reviewing. I hope this story turns out alright.

Soldier Boy - Chapter One

I am so excited for this story. Chapter one of Soldier Boy is now posted on Fictionpress.com and it is a direct sequel to The Flower Girl. I hope it is as well-liked. As usual, the first chapter probably does not make much sense and is simply setting up for a greater epic like its predecessor. This story is going to be heavier with fantasy and supernatural elements and I understand that not everyone is into those types of stories but there is also going to be a love story involved - just like The Flower Girl. Please read the first chapter and let me know what you think of it. Below, are pictures of some of the characters that are going to be very important to this story.

A Pocketful of Poppies - Part Seven

I hope that I have not lost my muse for this story despite how much that review wounded me. Part seven of A Pocketful of Poppies is now posted on Fictionpress so please read it and let me know what you think. I hope this chapter is as good as the previous ones. And I hope everyone is having a good week. It is almost the weekend so that is something to look forward to. Thank you in advance for everything. Also, thank you for the song suggestions. I love every single one of them and have been listening to them all so thank you for that as well. Have a good night, everyone.

Strange and Beautiful

Below, I have posted one of my favorite songs, “Strange and Beautiful” by Aqualung, and at this moment, I think it is a song that fits almost perfectly with Justin Aldridge and Poppy Sheppard from A Pocketful of Poppies. Please give it a listen and let me know what you think. Also, if you have other music suggestions for this particular couple, please let me know. Thank you.

As promised, now with The Flower Girl being completed, I am putting my time and energy into A Pocketful of Poppies for the time being and now, part six is posted on Fictionpress. Please read and review it for me. I hope interest in this story continues. Thank you very much in advance and thank you to Carrie for the picture below that she found that reminded her of Poppy.

The Flower Girl - Chapter Eighteen

Chapter eighteen, the last and final chapter of The Flower Girl, is posted on Fictionpress and with it, this story is officially finished. Please read and review it if you want. I know not many people enjoyed this story because of the plot - this story not really being the type they prefer - but now, with this finished, my focus shall be on A Pocketful of Poppies, one of my darker stories and yet, a beautiful love story as well. Thank you for reading and letting me know what you think.

Flattered Beyond Words

Hi everyone! I hope everyone has had a fabulous New Year so far. I just returned from Palm Springs and despite the beautiful weather, I am oddly happy to be back in Chicago again. I was checking emails and my blog and I found this comment from Jen:

I know that you just started posting regularly on fictionpress this year, so I don't know how familiar you are with the SKoW awards. They have them about twice a year and nominate different stories and authors on fictionpress. Long story short I just wanted to let you know that I nominated you for one of the current categories and will likely go back and nominate you in another category as well.

So ATTENTION all templeton21 fans: go to http://skow.byethost18.com/index.php and nominate Kate and whichever story you choose. The judges will determine, based partly on number of times nominated, which authors and stories will be included on the official nominee list. So if you want Kate to receive the accolades that she deserves, start nominating. Kate, I doubt that you would ever plug yourself, so I have taken it upon myself to do just that. You deserve more recognition for the stories you have written and continue to write. And just by being one of the nominees you can be exposed to so many more readers. So again everyone have a great 2009, and here's hoping we can get Kate on the nominee list in at least one category.

Thank you so much, Jen. I am absolutely flattered. I have never heard of the skow awards before but I am giddy just at the thought of you nominating me so thank you very much. Now that I am back home, I will begin writing again and hopefully, I will have an update of one of my stories soon. I, as always, will let you know. Thank you again!
