A Slow Burn

With The Prettiest Thing coming to a close much faster than most people want and with Nothing Else Matters being updated whenever I am inspired to add another one-shot, I will be working on my next story. This is going to be a mature story. It is going to be dark - a story of passion, jealousy and obsession - and it is going to be a story that I have been wanting to try and write for some time.

A Slow Burn by Kate:
From the very first time they meet, Rob and Lauren have always shared an intense connection with one another that neither could explain. But as they grow closer and fall more in love, they begin to become consumed by their feelings and seem no longer in control of themselves when around each other. Their love will lead to a dangerous obsession that will threaten to tear them both apart.

Of course it is going to be a love story with its sweet moments. It just won't be as conventional as some of my other romance stories. I hope this sounds interesting to at least a few of you. I really want to write something different and I want to see if I can succeed at writing something that would be considered going against the grain for me. Below are pictures of the main characters Rob Moseley and Lauren Vandermark. The model I found sort of looks like Tyson from The Prize but I assure you that he is a completely different man. This is one of the rare instances that the moment I saw this picture of Jamie Dornan, I created the character of Rob. Normally, I create characters and then find the pictures. But I was inspired by him and he has become my muse for this story.

Please let me know if A Slow Burn interests any of you. I really can't wait to finish the first chapter, edit it and then post it. I really want to try something different and I hope this works out. Also, if you haven't yet, please read and review chapter thirty-five of The Prettiest Thing for me. Thank you!

Hello Kate!

I think your new idea sounds very interesting and I am excited because this seems like a new direction for you. I am glad that you are going to write this story and I'll be anxious to see where you take us.

I am a BIG fan of the Happily-Ever-After stories but I can see where a darker, more intense story could be harder and more rewarding to write.

Long story short - I say go for it, it will likely make you a better writer and challenge the status quo. I am excited for it but do be warned some might not like the idea and you'll have to be okay with that. We should just feel lucky that you've decided to share your stories instead of keeping them to yourself - thank-you!

Take care Kate!

I would love to read your new story. It really does seem to be a different direction, but with your talent, I think you'll be able to pull it off with no problem. I applaud you for wanting to try something "new" or different even though some may not be as receptive, loving your usual stories. Go for it Kate, and I'll be one of those reading and reviewing.

Your story sounds like it will be great. I'm excited to read it! But...that will mean that The Prettiest Thing will be finished. That's so sad! But this new story sounds amazing, and I can't wait to see how it all plays out. The summary alone sounds very exciting! Please update TPT soon, I love it so much!

Sounds good, I can't wait.

I'm going to San Francisco on vacation so I will be missing in action, so when I don't review you will know why.

I would love to read this new story of yours. I love happy fairy tale ending stories as much as the next person, but love isn't always that way. Sometimes there is a darker side, whatever that may be. In this case, an unhealthy obsession. I enjoy watching you grow as an author and am excited that you are expanding your repertoire and trying something different. Definitely looking forward to reading this! :)

Im so happy you're trying to expand your ideas for your stories. Every story you have ever written I have loved so there's no doubt in my mind that I wont like this one.

This idea is brilliant by the way. I really like the idea and I cant wait to read it.

Can't wait to read this story sounds too good already and i haven't even read any of it yet!

Are you going to send any of your stories to publishers? i think you should they are all so good!

Wow! You are so amazing for writing all these stories. I was offline for a couple weeks as my internet was down and when I went online a few days ago I was so happy that I had about 4 chapters of TPT to read. And all of them were so adorable. Seriously I loved them. Brett and Ella are my favourite couple and Monty needs to grow up and realise that Ella will never be with him.

As for 'A Slow Burn' sounds good. Can't wait to read it. I also love 'Nothing Else Matters' the first story was so cute. I was smiling by the end, that's how cute it was. I'm such a hopeless romantic.

Good luck with everything.

Sounds interesting, plus the pics are great. Both the summary and pics make me believe it's gonna be a hot story/couple, so that's awesome!

Hope you have a great weekend, and I'll look forward to reading whatever you decide to write.
