Trouble Sleeping

It's the middle of the night and I can't sleep so I did the only thing I could think of doing. I'm listening to music and writing chapter nine of The Prettiest Thing. Now, writing a chapter when I'm tired but can't sleep may either be the best chapter ever or a very interesting read. We'll see when I post it though because what I'm writing, I love so far. We get to see a little bit more of Alex Dawson and see him as a person more than just Brett's father. I think that a lot of times, we forget that our parents are actually people instead of just mom and dad. And in chapter nine, Brett is going to be reminded of this. Also in this chapter, we're going to have more Monty and his sister, Corey, and at the end, we're going to have a sweet moment between Brett and Ella. These two make me smile and I think it's because of the whole pace of their relationship that I have set. And according to my outline and plans I have for this story, the night of the Homecoming Dance is going to be quite important for almost every character so the entirity of chapter ten is going to be dedicated to it. I am so excited for this story and I love it. I really do. It makes me happy to write - even when I feel like I'm about to fall asleep at my desk.

I'm glad you're enjoying writing this story so much. I am loving it more and more with each chapter. I look forward to seeing where you take these characters.

Sorry I haven't really reviewed much, but I will try to rectify that.

Hey Kate,

You know what they say the best and most creative ideas happen when we can't sleep. Now I can't wait to read chapter 9 and 10. To be honest I really like the pace and the little intimate interactions between Ella and Brett. Both have this intense quiet attraction for each other that is just electrifying underneath the surface and if anybody touches it they'll feel the spark, haha. I'm so dorky, haha. Anyways, I had a feeling Homecoming was going to be an important event and day for all of them. It's morning but I hope you're actually sleeping as I write this.

Kate remember that I'll be a fan forever and ever, seriously. You are allow to be grumpy or self- deprecating because you're human and I don't tend to take things like that seriously because sometimes we all need to let out steam. Thank you.

Oh, wow - sounds like the next chapter is going to be soooo good.

I am really interested in Monty, he seems like he could be good for Ella BUT I think my heart has already been stolen by Brett and Ella - so sweet!

And Chapter 10?! I can hardly wait! Since the whole chapter will be of Homecoming can we assume that Brett will be asking Ella in the next installment? I hope we get to see it!

Thanks for writing! Get some sleep! *grin*

I didn't think it was possible, but now I'm even more excited for the next few chapters! :D

I'm interested in this whole Monty/Ella thing now, but I wonder who I'll be rooting for at the end of the day; Monty or Brett? At the moment, I'm sensing that they're both fairly decent, nice guys, which is going to make it harder [but more riveting to read!]

That scenario is sort of like in the movie 'These Foolish Things'. Have you seen it? :)

I'm so excited for both of these chapters! & the next chapter of Ghetto Gospel.

As everyone else, I am excited about the Monty/Ella storyline, but am totally for Brett/Ella. I, as always, absolutely adore Trevor and Joy, and I can't wait for more from them.

I love the fact that you are making this story not only focused on Brett & Ella, but on every other character in the story. You are giving each of them a storyline, and not many authors do that, they usually stick to the two main characters. You are such an amazingly talented writer, and I can't wait for the next chapter of both of the stories you are currently working on.

Alessandra.
