A Winged Cupid Painted Blind

Though The Prettiest Thing is no where near close to being finished, and I do have to do some work on Ghetto Gospel, I have ideas churning in my head as usual. If you remember my story idea for The Wit of the Staircase, I have decided to maybe use that particular idea for my manuscript for publishing - which I hopefully will get published someday - but I want to have another idea ready for my next story on AFF.net for all of you to read. The story is called A Winged Cupid Painted Blind, which is a line from Shakespeare's A Midsummer's Night Dream.

PLOT:
As the oldest daughter in a very traditional family, Lena must marry before her sisters. Desperate for her to find someone, her mom decides to help by putting an ad for her in the newspaper. Lena wasn’t expecting anyone from it - especially him.

Despite all of his long hours and hard work, Tim is finding that it is impossible to move ahead at his company unless he is in a relationship or married. When he sees Lena’s ad in the newspaper, he figures that she is desperate enough to help him until he gets promoted at work. But he wasn’t expecting falling for her.

Please let me know if this is a story you would be interested in reading. Thank you!

I very much like this idea Kate, I think it has the potential to be another amazing story.

I've always loved it when you write about adults (though I love your high schools stories just the same!) So there's no doubt in my mind that I won't enjoy this one.

I can't wait to read it!

I would love to see how you come up with the plot. Your stories are always unique and I would love to see how you put the twist and turns into this one in paricular. I say go for it.

This sounds like some things I have read before so I would love to see your twist on it. I know you will do it with you own flare and make it great. Can't wait for it, but Please update on this one 1st that cliffhanger was major!

I would absolutely love to read this. I love it when you write about adults. Ben and Olivia, the characters from Fairy Tale, and Copper Penny are my favorites. I love reading romances. You remind me a lot of Julie Garwood.

It is definitely an interesting concept. The idea of a marriage advertisement is slightly disturbing so I would love to see your take on that idea. Would love to see that story written.

Hey Kate,

Hope you're doing fantastically on this rainy Wednesday. Well, it's raining over here in the east coast. Knowing you, you're probably busy typing away with chapter 17 of "The Prettiest Thing".

I was being noisy and read everyone's comment on this post and I agree with everyone especially Shanna and Sarah. With Shanna I agree that this story concept is pretty familiar and with Sarah the Ad to find a husband is a bit bothersome. Yet I believe that this story will be awesome since you will put your own spin and twist to it. I would have to admit that I am genuinely surprise how "The Prettiest Thing" is turning out because that concept is pretty cliched and played out, but you've made it unbelievably interesting with every chapter. I think because you actually took the time for us to get to know the characters and not just the idea itself. I hope I'm making sense. I also wanted to laugh how everyone is so excited that you're going to write with adult characters for this new story. Your fans are adorable and so are you so hurry and crank that chapter 17 out, just kidding, hehe.

I'm a drifting reader of your writing (meaning I review now and again under different names), and I've got to say that you never fail to please. You are one of my favorite original writers on AFF, but that's probably true for most people as well. Anyway, I can't wait to read it if you choose to go with the story. I only wish you would print all of your stories so that I could buy them all and not have to use my stupid computer which has to fucking break down every chapter. -_- Pardon my French. Anyway, I just adore you. Also you totally got me addicted to Led Zeppelin and all the songs that you use in your stories lol. Oh, and please continue with THE PRETTIEST THING. I'm really enjoying it... but no pressure. I always get stuck and become too busy with real life at times. But I'm keeping my fingers crossed!
