The Flower Girl - Chapter Eighteen

Chapter eighteen, the last and final chapter of The Flower Girl, is posted on Fictionpress and with it, this story is officially finished. Please read and review it if you want. I know not many people enjoyed this story because of the plot - this story not really being the type they prefer - but now, with this finished, my focus shall be on A Pocketful of Poppies, one of my darker stories and yet, a beautiful love story as well. Thank you for reading and letting me know what you think.

I've enjoyed this story, but I haven't been keeping up with my reviewing, which is really bad. I apologise. BUT. I have been reading :]

However, I am extremely excited about A Pocketful Of Poppies. I'm really looking forward to reading more of that, I'm loving it so far :D

Oh gosh, I'm so sad this story is ending. But I'm SO excited for the sequel, as well as A Pocketful of Poppies. Thank you for writing such an amazing story.

I hope you didn't get the wrong idea from my reviews. I like this story and like the fact that its different from all your other ones. I admire the fact that you dare try something new. Just that at times I found that it may have been a little disconnected (which I can't quite pin point so it may just be my foolish compulsive critisism side kicking in) but I think that is to be expected from new works?

Have been following this story quite closely and checking your blog just about everyday! Even when I'm preparing for exams (now) and trying to get a kick start on this assessed essay that's due in next week!!

Perhaps over the Summer I'll be able to catch up with the rest of your stories. The Waverly Myth and Pocketfull of Poppies primarily. I think I've read all of the rest apart from those two which I just mentioned..

All the best, Kate!

ps. I'll read this latest and last installment of The Flower Girl later today.. Have some last bits of research to do for abovementioned essay as well as a critical doctor's appointment in the afternoon.

I'm sad that its ending soon even though I'm sure it will be one that's perfect to read. And at the same time, I look forward to reading the follow up (Soldier Boy).

I remember that I tried reading the Flower Girl awhile ago, when it was just a couple of chapters long. I got frustrated, because I really love to read the complete story, so I stopped. This was probably a very selfish move on my part, but I am really glad that I did wait. I read the entire story in one sitting today and really, really, really enjoyed it. When I read whole stories I can appreciate the flow and the tone so much better than individual chapters. It just makes more sense, and I think I get more out of it.

I specifically liked the supernatural element of the Flower Girl and I think that it was well pulled off. (Especially the Joss Whedon reference hehe). It could have gone badly awry, but it was well handled. So, generally, I can't wait for whatever comes next. You can obviously do romance, and drama, and apparently scifi. Whatever next? :)

On a quasi-related note, I was looking around the internet for more stories like yours, and I was kind of disappointed. Your writing is just a whole lot better. I think the reason is your style. A lot of the other stories are in first person ( and are obvious Mary Sues that odd me out), or just sloppy. Your writing is a lot more... literary. It is clean, grammatical, literate and doesn't distract from the storytelling. I just wanted to compliment you for that.

Congratulations on another story :)

Thanks for trying something new and letting us be a part of it.

One random question, though, whatever happened to everything about the Kraken? It was mentioned a few times relating to the Darkness but that topic itself wasn't picked up as a plot point. Was that on purpose?

Keep up the awesome work and can't wait for Soldier Boy!

Hello again - you might remember, I left a small review on your story 'The Flower Girl' just yesterday. I just wanted to let you know that I left a fuller review of the story on the "Double Edged Pen" community at LiveJournal (http://community.livejournal.com/depen/), in the hopes that your story will get the attention it deserves for being quite well written.

Cheers!
